Callison’s opulent design for Leiber’s new Las Vegas store invigorates the established luxury brand, targeting a new audience, interpreting a new market position, and presenting new product lines.
"Callison’s design helps drive the expansion of Leiber,” said Callison Principal Tom Bowen, AIA.
Las Vegas is a consistently outstanding market for Leiber, explained Robert Vignola, president and CEO of Judith Leiber LLC. “The Las Vegas store will act as a brand blueprint as we update the Leiber image and expand,” he said. "Our new store provides 50 percent more space to showcase the collection, including our well-known minaudieres, special-occasion handbags, small leather goods, shoes, belts, and gifts.”
Open merchandising techniques depart from Leiber’s previous store design. Distinct merchandise zones and multiple ceiling heights pace customers’ experience of the store while adding visual excitement.
“The elegant store’s contemporary edge attracts a younger audience," said Bowen. "Silver-leaf walls, fluid drapery and shagreen-inlaid tables echo the luxury of new, chic exotic leather goods, furs, and footwear. The store playfully showcases the brand’s legacy, its jeweled handbags, in dramatic dioramas.”
A laser-cut alligator pattern highlights the shop’s façade, while inside, a “runway” displays Leiber’s footwear. The dioramas evoke conventions of museum display to connote the history and legacy of Leiber minaudieres and purses. |
