Eastman Spectar Proves Ideal for Nose Bottle Display
Meets clarity, design flexibility, impact resistance, and eae of fabrication goals

A PETG sheet made with Eastman Spectar™ copolyester provides the perfect combination of properties needed for a display that makes one brand stand out among OTC meds during the cold and flu season. As shoppers scan the shelves through their itchy, watery eyes, this large-scale model of a nose spray bottle easily captures their attention.

Spectar™ copolyester was chosen by fabricator Multiplastics Georgia Inc. for its clarity, design flexibility, and impact resistance. Its durability cuts down on breakage in busy retail environments and decreases shipping costs for brand owners by reducing the amount of packaging needed to preserve the display during transit.

Manufacturing capabilities also played a role in the selection of material for the bottle. Spectar™ bonded easily with the ABS screw-on bottle cap. PETG does not require the long drying process needed for polycarbonate, and the tooling cost was cheaper than would have been required for other materials, according to Gary Webb, president of Multiplastics.

“The reaction from our customer was extremely positive,” says Webb. “We are certain we made the right material choice for this application. We recommend Spectar for a plethora of applications.”
