| This 2,000-sq.-ft. prototype store launches the retail division of the well-entrenched brand while celebrating its pop-culture history and appealing to cultured women. The environment continually engages the customer with constantly changing images and morphing sounds. Sexy, yet elegant materials include layers of frosted glass on perimeter walls. The cropped silhouettes and abstractions of the Playboy bunny logo create an architectural language for the store. Design from this Sin City store will be rolled out nationwide. |

| Three vertically suspended 21-ft. pearlescent lacquer panels connect the first and second floors through an oval opening. Perforating the panels are freeform chrome rings displaying select merchandise, while around the opening, black resin seems to pool and spill to flow throughout the floor. These curves are repeated in the tables, benches, and cashwrap. Hand-sculpted fiberglass “eyes,” lit with changing colors, open intermittently to display shoes and accessories against black lacquer panels on the back wall. |
