2005 Judging & Awards
NASFM's 34th Annual
RETAIL DESIGN AWARDS
The Venetian Ballroom, Las Vegas
March 21, 2005
Criteria & Judging Process

An independent panel of judges will determine a Grand Prize winner and up to two Finalists in each category. One overall store entry will also be awarded Store of the Year. In addition, several store fixtures will receive Store Fixture Awards, one of which will be awarded Fixture of the Year. All awards are determined at the judges' discretion; decisions are final.

The principal criteria for judging will be

• excellence in design
• originality in the use of space and fixtures
• quality in executing the total concept

Store fixture awards will further critique the functionality and integration of the fixture(s) in support of the store’s overall brand.

Winners will be notified by February 15, 2005.

Awards Presentation

Awards for the winning entries will be presented at NASFM's Retail Design Awards ceremony at the end of the first day of GlobalShop, the NASFM-sponsored trade show that takes place in Las Vegas in 2005. The awards presentation has been scheduled for Monday, March 21, 2005, from 5:00–7:00 p.m. at the Venetian.

Awards Acceptance

All companies that contributed to projects receiving Grand Prizes, Store of the Year, or Fixture of the Year will be invited on stage during the awards ceremony. The designated recipient, generally the lead designer or fixture manufacturer, will be presented with a crystal award onstage and will have the opportunity to make a brief acceptance speech. Store Fixture Award recipients will be recognized during the awards presentation and will receive crystal awards afterwards.

All winners, including Finalists in the store and department categories, will receive project coverage online, in print, and in the photo display area at GlobalShop. After GlobalShop, each winning company will receive a certificate and the opportunity to purchase crystal awards in their company’s name.
