The hanging display niche
featured here utilizes a centralized support column
that flows from the top level to the bottom level
of the store, blurring the lines between architecture
and fixturing and adding a futuristic, cave-like
feel for a hip and discriminating clientele. Additionally,
the niche provides a sense of museum-like exclusivity
for hanging apparel and small product merchandised
in varied merchandising areas, including lockable
display cases and open display areas.

The CBC’s architectural
solution is a movable wall that satisfies multiple
functions. By day, the wall houses a pocket grill
and acts as a surface for communications while allowing
traffic entering the adjacent theater to pass underneath.
At night, the wall provides a secure closure with
the extension of the internally stored grill. The
wall, 20 ft. long and movable, locks to the floor
at night and is supported by an engineered, pivoting
stainless-steel-clad column.
