Michelle Tomlinson


Senior Director, Visual Merchandising
Pacific Sunwear

As senior director of visual merchandising for Pacific Sunwear, Michelle Tomlinson is responsible for developing and maintaining the brand integrity across the Pac Sun and Pac Sun Outlet divisions. She focuses on driving the profitability of retail programs through high-impact merchandising, consistent communication, and on-point execution. Her responsibilities include product placement, styling, in-store collateral, and window displays across all brands. Tomlinson works collaboratively with the design and branding groups to ensure a consistent store experience for the teen customer, one that is rooted in youth culture and the SoCal lifestyle.

Tomlinson has more than 15 years of experience in branding and visual merchandising. During her career, she has been instrumental in repositioning and launching new brands. She has worked for several high-profile brands in the retail fashion and entertainment industries, including Limited Brands (Express), Tween Brands (Too) and Disney (stores and theme parks/resorts).

She has been recognized for her team’s merchandising excellence and creative contribution on design projects with articles in Women’s Wear Daily, I.D. Magazine, Chain Store Age, and other publications. Tomlinson has been a key contributor to branding and design projects that have received industry recognition, including awards for store and fixture design from A.R.E. (2006, 2007) and Chain Store Age (2005).
