Bob Welty has 15 years of experience developing award-winning restaurants and stores. He currently directs an interdisciplinary group of designers, architects, and engineers who collaborate on new retail and restaurant prototypes.

Trained as a product designer, Welty found his background provided a three-dimensional problem-solving foundation that easily transferred to the design of retail environments and fixtures.

Before joining WD Partners, Welty worked with Chute Gerdeman and Design Forum. His many clients have included Merrell, Macy’s, Helly Hansen, Eddie Bauer, Lowe’s, Victoria’s Secret, Bank One, Sheetz, Red Lobster, Rubio’s, and Office Max.

At WD Partners, Welty has developed stores for Carvel, Wendy’s, Baja Fresh, Wawa, HMS Host/Starbucks, AMC, Logan’s Roadhouse, Arby’s, and Krispy Kreme. He received a B.F.A. in Industrial Design from the Columbus College of Art and Design (CCAD) and currently serves on the school's Design Advisory Panel.
